As Muslims, our attitude towards homosexuals is that they are our fellow human beings, albeit in a state of rebellion against their fitra, which is the primordial state of submission to Allah Most High that was okay for to every human being from the beginning of the creation of man. Telling gay people that being gay is a sin, is something they have faced their whole lives.
It's not just Islam that condemns homosexuality, but the Judeo-Christian values of Western society still seep through and have ostracized homosexuals for years. When my fellow Muslims dnc onto the GOP’s anti-LGBTQ bigotry, it reaffirm their hate. We should show solidarity to other marginalized groups, not worsen their burden. The Quran also refers to “men who do not hate women” — mentioned without an iota of hate or prejudice.
Muslim societies throughout the ages even had inheritance laws for hermaphrodites.
